Meg, I think the easiest way would be to invest in "Chux" for underneath the sheets. You should be able to pick them up in the baby isle of your local supermarket. Those large absorbent sheets are also great for when you're working under your car. I have found that the disposable ones are very thin and when you put them in between the mattress and the sheets, you hardly know they are there. As far as the smell goes, Fabreze seems to work. Let me know if this helps.

P.S. I also listed a website where you can buy the chux.

I'm 32 and last night was the FIRST TIME in my entire life (since I was potty trained at 3) that I wet the bed. I NEVER wet the bed in my life.

Although, I didn't pee enough to wet the bed but I started just enough to have to change my underwear and pajama pants. And strangely, I wasn't dreaming about going to the bathroom at all (I've dreamt that before and never physically went), but it was something totally unrelated and as soon as I felt the sensation that I was starting to pee I jumped out of bed, felt the bed (it was dry) then went to the bathroom to finish.

Jesus Christ! I hope this never happens again! I was with the family at Christmas Eve last night so I wonder if that had something to do with this. I also bought a new toilet seat that day so maybe that had something to do with it.. who knows.

What I've been doing that have helped out.
1) don't drink any fluids before bed
2) try to urinate before you go to bed.
Hopfully this can help some people out.

I'm 47 yo male and have wet the bed frequently and heavily my entire life. I never figured out a pattern or trigger, and nothing I tried made a dent in it. As a teen and young adult I felt TERRIBLE about it, but now I'm happily married and don't even mind anymore, it's just how I am. My wife and I can laugh about when I get her wet at night.

So to you younger folks worried about it, don't! It's not the worst thing in the world, it's painless and just one of those goofy things to deal with.

I'm glad I found this site. I've been looking for something like this for awhile, and after reading a lot of your stories I feel relieved and I'll be praying for each one of you. I never really wet the bed as a child, and it usually only happens once or twice a year to me, and like most of you, dreaming about going pee...when it first started happening I freaked out, wondering what was wrong with me. I grew up with my sister, who was a bedwetter our whole childhood. I watched her sleep on plastic sheets and have to load her bedding into the washer every morning. Thankfully our parents were much more understanding and not mean to her, but her habit stopped when she reached her teens. And then suddenly I was having the issue. it wasn't until I got with my current boyfriend that I learned I wasn't alone. He too has the problem, and way more severe than mine. His is once or twice a week, and he says its again, usually because he's dreaming of peeing or he's super comfy and he relaxes so much it just happens. He's very grateful about how understanding I am about it, although you can see the shame on his face when he wakes me up to tell me we have to change the bed again. Just remember folks, you're not alone. You are who you are and if you haven't already, you'll find someone who is understanding and loves you no matter what.

Hey all, thank god for this site.

Like many people here I have been a lifelong bed wetter. Even now 38 years down the line there are time that it still happens. I have been very lucky with my partner who is very supportive when I have '-accidents'. He has admitted the hardest part of my condition is watching how it hurts me when I have woken wet.

Unlike some people, I do not get any warning dreams of sing he bathroom , in fact he only time I have had that, I actually woken up dry!

I have overtime probably used every kind of medication that be be prescribed, with one combination I lost 48 hours of my life, when I reacted very badly to them.

It is ironic that the wet sensor mats/ wet alarm would wake everyone up in my family but not me. I too had also used pads and tried a sheath but as I move about during the night when sleep, they have been of very little help.

I like many others would gladly give anything not to have this medical condition. I am also heartened to see that at long last it is ring discussed more openly rather than something that is a dark secret that must be hidden away.

What's up? I just read all the stories on here and wow. I would of never thought so many people suffer from the same thing I do. This urinating at night thing started when I was about 22. Ever since then it's been almost a yearly thing. After reading these stories I am surprised. Alot of y'all are experiencing the same dream I am. Using the pisser in my dream, only to awake to pee on myself. Another surprising fact is that we are all around the same age. I'm 26 now, and I am also a vet from OIF 08-09. Wetting myself at night is embarrassing man. I finally confessed myself to my wife today. I do feel better about getting this off my chest to her. But I have to find away to treat and prevent my problem. Usually the day after I super-soak myself, I per frequently throughout the day. Friday I'm going to the doctor. Hopefully I find out what's going on. I've never been more worried to drink beer with guys, then I am now. Well nice talking, and remember WAKE UP!!! Peace you guys.

I am a 34 year old male who over the last 2 nights and days has experienced for the first time in my life bed wetting. I have gone to the doctor whole told me my culture is clean and my wife who is very supportive has told me it is ok even though i have peed the bed 7 times in 2 nights. She is very supportive to the point that she has washed the sheets both days following and I have purchased adult pants for nighttime to try to contain. I am very puzzled and embarrased with this situation as this has never happened to me before. Does anyone have similar experiences and what they did to help?

I have gone to the doctor whole told me my culture is clean and my wife who is very supportive has told me it is ok even though i have peed the bed 7 times in 2 nights. She is very supportive to the point that she has washed the sheets both days following and I have purchased adult pants for nighttime to try to contain. I am very puzzled and embarrased with this situation as this has never happened to me before. Does anyone have similar experiences and what they did to help?

Hi everyone. Here's one for you somewhat different. I'm 69 years of age and have had this begin only about 18 months ago. Then a few months later, then not for a long time. Perhaps a year. I thought it was over. Then a few weeks or a month ago I have another wet spot. And recently once or twice a week. I don't think I emptied my bladder, but still wet. At my age I have an enlarged prostate. A common occurance for older men and also a possible cause of occasional bed wetting. I also had a kidney infection at my last physical exam in Jan. This can also cause a bout with bed wetting. I took antibiotics for 30 full days Such urinary tract infections can be very difficult to clear up. I think it was not completely cured. This last condition brings me to the point of this posting. It is very possible to have such an infection for years and not even realize it. It might be wise to have a doctor check for that possibility.

Okay so it's 4:45 in the morning and I just spent the last half hour or so cleaning my girl's bed. This is the second time this has happened to me for the month. Last time I was dreaming about going to the bathroom and this time I'm not sure what happened. My girl was forgiving about it last time but this time since it's earlier, I'm not too sure. I'm not sure if it's stress or radical change in sleep patterns. I don't have a job where I have to wake up really early but the problem is that I don't work that job often nor does this bed wetting thing occur as often. I'll try to use the bathroom before going to bed or at least don't drink any fluids.
